Habit: An upright, bushy shrub. Height 0.3 to 1.2 m (1 to 4 ft).
Flowers: White, 4 to 8 mm flowers in dense clusters.
Leaves: Leaves linear to narrowly elliptic-oblong, 1.2 to 5 cm long, margins recurved, dense rusty indumentum.
Distribution: North and Central Europe, European Russia to South Siberia.
Very common in Finland. Moors, pine forests and bogs.
