Lumi antaa hyvän suojan alppiruusuille. Talvet ovat kuitenkin saaristossa valitettavan vähälumisia. Lunta on tyypillisesti vain muutama sentti, jos sitäkään.

Snow gives a good protection for rhododendrons during winters. Unfortunately, in the Turku Archipelago there is not much snow. Usually we get only some centimeters (inch or two) and often not even that.
