Parentage: yakushimanum seedling, K. Janeck 1964/65
Habit: Compact, mounding plant. Height 1.2 m (4 ft) in ten years.
Flowers: Large, fuchsine pink flowers fading white, upper lobes with yellow-green area and brownish freckels.
Leaves: Leaves oblanceolate, acute apex, recurved, dark green with thick indumentum beneath.
Young growth is white tomentose. See picture below.
Cold Hardiness Temperature: -15F, -26C
